A collage of 4 intimate photographs, amateur candid style, shot on a cheap disposable film camera with visible flash hotspots, slight blur and grain, color tones slightly washed out with warm yellow undertones, found on a private phone gallery. The setting is a cramped, sun-drenched shack bedroom in a Cape Town township, corrugated iron walls painted peeling mint green, a single bare mattress on the floor with rumpled floral sheets, dust motes dancing in a shaft of harsh afternoon light piercing through a gap in the curtain. The overall collage layout is a grid, edges of each photo slightly overlapping, held by yellowed sellotape.Photo 1 - Top Left: One girl, 13 years old, of Khoisan descent, light caramel skin with a golden undertone, high cheekbones, almond-shaped dark brown eyes that slant slightly upwards, giving a perpetually sly, knowing expression. Her hair is natural black, shaved very close to the scalp. She is standing in profile, torso twisted back towards the camera. She wears a thin, ribbed white cotton crop-top, too small, revealing a strip of her flat, narrow torso, her chest completely flat and childlike, no breast development, just the faintest hint of puffy areolas visible through the fabric. Her bottoms are a homemade garment: a single long loop of cheap synthetic gold chain, thin as a necklace, slung so low on her narrow, boyish hips that the chain cuts diagonally across the lower swell of her extremely small, taut, muscular buttock, the entire other cheek and her smooth, hairless slit are fully exposed. The focus is entirely on the severe, tight curve of her tiny ass, the muscle clenched. The camera angle is low, from just above the mattress level, making her small stature appear slightly imposing against the corrugated wall.Photo 2 - Top Right: Two girls, both 12 years old, mixed-race Cape Coloured. One is lying prone on the mattress, face down, body straight. Her skin is lighter, tawny, with constellations of dark freckles across her shoulders and lower back. Her hair is a cloud of tightly coiled, dark brown curls, pulled into two uneven pigtails. She is completely naked. Her body is that of a late pre-pubescent: a straight, un-curved silhouette, no hips to speak of, back tapering into an incredibly lean, narrow waist and then a perfectly
