Split a video into clips in your browser by time or exact frame count.
How to use ↓Choose a video
What is the video splitter?
This free browser tool creates clips from one video. Time cuts copy video when keyframes allow; otherwise the video is re-encoded on your device.
How to use
Choose a video
Use an MP4, MOV, WebM, or MKV file from your device. Signed-in users can also choose a saved video.
Split settings
Add timestamp cuts, request equal parts, choose a fixed duration, or split every set number of frames.
Preview clip boundaries
Review the clip boundaries. Time cuts use nearby keyframes when possible or re-encode at nearby frames; frame cuts keep the requested frame counts.
Export all clips
Your browser downloads a ZIP. Files up to 100 MB are supported.
Frequently asked questions
Are my videos uploaded?
Files selected from your device stay in your browser. Library videos are fetched to your browser from your account for local processing.
Which videos can I split?
MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV containers are supported when their codecs can be saved in the same format. Cuts that need re-encoding also require browser support for decoding and encoding the video codec. Subtitles and attachments are not copied.
Why did my cut time change?
Clips copied without re-encoding start at an earlier keyframe. If the video has too few keyframes, the tool re-encodes at nearby frames instead. Review the actual times before export.
Can I split every 1,000 frames exactly?
Yes. Frame mode makes exact groups such as 1,000 frames per clip and re-encodes video on your device. The last clip contains any remaining frames.
What are the file and clip limits?
Create 2 to 30 clips from a video up to 100 MB. Download all clips in one ZIP.
Does splitting reduce quality?
Time cuts copy video without changing quality when keyframes allow. If re-encoding is needed, or you choose exact frame splitting, quality and file size may change.
