Your First Image
This walkthrough makes one image from a text prompt. You need a signed-in account and enough available credit to generate. Check pricing before you start; the price depends on the model and settings.
1. Open the image generator
Go to Generate Image. The How to use control starts an in-page tour whenever you want to find a control. On a phone, the editor and Results are separate tabs.
2. Choose a model
Open Model and choose a Base Model and Checkpoint. A base model is the generation family; a checkpoint is a particular trained version in that family. Each family offers different references, LoRAs, and sampling controls. For your first image, keep the default settings after making your model choice.
For a general scene, try a model that accepts ordinary descriptive sentences, such as Flux1 Dev or SDXL. For anime art, see the Anima and Pony Diffusion guides.
3. Write one clear prompt
Open Prompt and describe the subject, action, setting, composition, light, and style. For example:
A red fox sitting beside a mountain stream, pine forest behind it, medium shot, soft morning light, detailed storybook illustration
Keep one main subject for the first attempt. You can add a Negative Prompt only if your selected model exposes that control. The Basic Prompting Guide has more examples.
4. Review settings and generate
In Settings, choose your image size and number of images. Private Mode keeps the result visible only to you; Hide Prompt hides prompt text when sharing a result. Check these before submitting if privacy matters. Leave Sampler at its defaults for now.
Select Generate. Creating images uses your available balance. New jobs and finished images appear in Results; on mobile, open the Results tab. Select a finished image to see the full result and its available actions.
5. Improve one thing at a time
- If the subject is wrong, put it at the beginning of the prompt and remove competing subjects.
- If the framing is wrong, add
close-up,full body, orwide shot. - If you want a comparable variation, turn on Use Fixed Seed and change one prompt detail. A seed helps comparison but does not guarantee identical output after you change other settings or models.
- If you want a new composition, change the seed.
Open the result and select Recreate to load supported settings back into the generator. Check them before generating again. See Find, Save, and Reuse Your Work for downloading, privacy, and history.
Next steps
Try Magic Edit to change an existing image, or Video Generation to animate one. Add a compatible LoRA only after you have a basic prompt that works.
