Remove an image background

Create a cutout for a product picture, portrait, or graphic. Use an image where the subject is clearly separated from its surroundings.

Try it

  1. Open Remove Background.
  2. Upload or pick your image.
  3. Review the privacy setting and pricing, then submit the job.
  4. Open the finished result in Results and download it.
  5. Check the edges against a contrasting background. Keep a format that supports transparency, such as PNG, when saving or converting the result.

For a first attempt, try a product photographed against a plain wall. The expected result keeps the product while making its surroundings transparent.

Check difficult edges

Hair, glass, fine mesh, and shadows can be difficult to separate. Try a clearer source image if parts of the subject disappear. A white background in an image viewer does not by itself prove that transparency was lost; check the file in a tool that displays transparency.

Next steps

Use Magic Edit to create a different scene, or prepare your media for export. Converting a cutout to JPEG removes transparency.
