Top up using PayPal and PYUSD

The PayPal option explains how to buy PayPal USD (PYUSD) in PayPal, then send it through Dopamine Girl's Crypto checkout. It does not open a direct PayPal payment to Dopamine Girl. Buying PYUSD alone does not add credits.

Before you buy

Check these two things first:

  • Your PayPal account supports PYUSD and external crypto transfers. Availability depends on your account and region; seeing a crypto balance does not guarantee you can send it. Check PayPal's crypto FAQ.
  • The current Dopamine Girl Crypto invoice offers PYUSD on a network that PayPal can send to. Both the token and network must match. If there is no matching option, use another payment method before buying PYUSD.

Check the invoice's current options before purchasing, but create a fresh invoice later if the original expires while your funds become available.

Complete the top-up

  1. Sign in to Top up credits and select PayPal to view the instructions.
  2. In PayPal, follow its buying guide. Choose PYUSD and a one-time purchase. Review the accepted funding source and total before confirming.
  3. Wait until your PYUSD is available to send, rather than merely appearing in your balance.
  4. Return to Dopamine Girl, select Crypto, choose your top-up amount, and select Pay Now.
  5. On the invoice, select PYUSD and a matching network. Read the exact token amount, address, any memo, and deadline.
  6. In PayPal's crypto controls, choose PYUSD, then Transfer → Send to an external address. Paste the invoice address, select the same network, and enter the exact PYUSD amount requested. Include any required memo. Review the recipient amount and fee before confirming. See PayPal's transfer instructions.
  7. Save the invoice/payment ID and PayPal transaction hash. Once the payment completes, check Billing Overview and Billing History.

Do not send PYUSD to the support email address or select a PayPal contact as the recipient. This workflow uses the external address on your invoice.

Troubleshoot PayPal problems

ProblemWhat to check and do
Crypto or PYUSD is missingCheck account/region eligibility and the latest PayPal app. If an eligible feature is missing in the app, check PayPal's web Crypto Hub; some features can differ during app updates. Use PayPal support if it remains unavailable.
The purchase rejects my credit cardPayPal's US buying guide lists PayPal balance, bank, and debit card as crypto funding sources; it excludes credit cards and PayPal Credit. Use an eligible source shown in your account.
I own PYUSD but cannot send itOpen the purchase details and account notifications. A pending bank-funded purchase, negative balance, verification requirement, or account restriction can block transfers. Complete PayPal's requested actions and wait for clearance before creating an invoice you intend to pay.
PayPal says the transfer is below its minimum or over a limitCheck the current limit for the selected asset/network in PayPal. Do not increase a payment above the invoice amount just to pass a transfer minimum. Choose a different compatible payment option if needed.
The address or network is rejectedRecheck that both sides use PYUSD on the same network. Copy from the current invoice, not an old payment. If no matching network is available, stop before sending.
There is not enough available cryptoCheck the recipient amount plus the displayed transfer fee. Do not reduce the invoice payment to make room for a fee.
The transfer is pending or failedOpen its Activity details. Check whether PayPal has submitted a transaction hash and whether the network confirms it. For a failed transfer, confirm the funds' status with PayPal before retrying; for a pending one, avoid a duplicate send.

The checks above follow PayPal's buying guide, transfer guide, and crypto account terms on holds, fees, and limitations. PayPal controls its account restrictions and release times; Dopamine Girl cannot remove a PayPal hold.

I sent PYUSD but have no credits

Check the transaction's token, network, recipient address, amount, and confirmation status against the invoice. A successful transfer inside PayPal is not proof that the matching invoice has finished processing. PayPal explains that receiving services may require additional confirmations.

Use Crypto payment troubleshooting for expired invoices, underpayments, wrong networks, or a completed invoice with missing credits. Transfers cannot simply be canceled after sending; contact support rather than sending the payment again.
